My 72GS455 non A/C car rides very low in the front. I am betting that the previous owner cut the springs down, I have Moog 5536 springs to install this week. Can someone measure the height of their front fender above the tire to the ground for me?? And also the distance between the crossframe under the engine and the ground. I cannot get a floor jack under my car, below the engine.
    Thanks

The measurements for a '71 GS should be the same as the '72.
I may be corrected on this.
Measure from the floor, thru the centre of the wheel & to the bottom of the wheel opening. Wheel opening measurement is without stainless trim.
    Front: 26 1/2" Rear: 24 15/16"
Tire height will contribute to ride height as well as the springs.

Tim. Chassis service manual has the dimension from the ground to fender, over the front tire at 27" Skylark, 26 9/16" GS. Above the rear tire, 25 1/8" Skylark, 24 3/8" GS. Hope this helps. I can't give you anything else as mines on jackstands.

Thanks Larry, the front of my car sits at 23 7/8" and th rear at 25" although I have air shocks so I guessed that height well. I am going to use the Moog 5536 Should be good.

    Thanks

George according to that post it looks like the 5536 springs that I have will be too stiff for me???
    Thanks

I put the Moog 5536 springs in and the car sits great! the height of the front wheel well is 26 5/8".

My car had I believe the Moroso lightweight racing springs in it so the car sat really low.
I like my new stance and handling with the Moog springs!
