    Do you use them?

After 20 years of pushing paper my hands aren't as rough and tough as they once were. I reluctantly grabbed a pair off an impluse item display. At first I didn't like the way tools felt but after the first wrench slipped and I still had skin on my knuckles I was converted. But now I have very dirty wrists. :Dou:

Yep, I have a couple of pairs. Great for changing tires and brake work. Or when you have to work around a hot area.

I use leather gloves for the knuckle skinner jobs and vinyl gloves by the box for most jobs involving dirt and grease. The grease jobs will such make a mess out of regular gloves. With the vinyl gloves just toss them.

Yes I will use them on the heavy duty jobs. Otherwise I just use latex gloves for everything else. Just peel them off when your done and your hands are spanking clean.

I haven't see them in store but liked them ones with magnet panels on the back of the hand.

I've always used them - though not all the time. For tight bolts and such, they're great, and make cleaning the hands a bit easier. But on hard to reach parts, tight places, or small hardware, I just risk it.

Mechanics gloves please use them. Coming from someone that turned wrenches everyday for 20 years on a daly bases. Get the ones that have the gel in the palms and fingers. CTS and arthris has taken me out !!! These type of gloves came along to late to save my hands and wrist. The latex are great. They also help to keep your hands from drying out because of the chemicals we use.

Leather or latex but rarely bare. Just too simple to toss the latex ones and then wash your wrists and arms.

I have tried the latex gloves, but can't get them to last more than a few minutes. I also use "mechanix" type gloves whenever the conditions allow it.

leo455, sorry to hear about your hands. I'll take the lesson you've learned and wear gloves.

I've tried latex glove for keeping my hands clean but I'm only good for about 15 minutes. My hands swet so bad I end up with water ballon fingers.

I wear latex in the oily areas and the mechanics gloves for everything else. I love them. Make sure they fit correctly.
Some good news. I stopped by Sears tonite for a brake tool and they are running a sale on their gloves. $9.95 a pair. These are usually over 20 bucks. I dont know if the sale is every store, but San Bernardio, CA is got em on sale

cheapo $1 magic gloves. They're a fabric, can't use em when draining fluids but they've saved me about 12 square feet of skin.

Same here, except most jobs seem to start out with "I'm not gonna get dirty doing this..."

I generally dont use them when working on cars but i do wear cowhide gloves during parts of a carpentry project. Like drum sanders, takes the skin right off. :TU:
