I understand having "color commentator" but there are some maroons out there just talking for the sake of filling dead air space. Doesn't matter what they say.
Yes the guys on mecum are pretty dang bad, and it seems like they get worse every year. The bad thing is people believe all their "facts" to be correct, and they make false statements that even a dipstick like me catches every 20 minutes or so. Bill Stephens is an annoying moron. I'm pretty sure Scott Hoke has a thing for J.K......
I once heard Bill Stephens say he saw a 289 with 8 4 barrel Holleys on it. When someone tried to correct him he stuck to his guns....
He is probably the guy at the local cruise in that tells you his factory 74 Hemi Duster out ran everyone in Town except his buddy with a 67 327 camaro,.. it would pull the wheels in 2nd gear dont cha know!!!
One of the guys: "There were only 20 4 speed 1969 Daytonas made. How many do you think are left?" Scott Hoke: "I'd have to say less than 20." Excellent.
Very irritating. When they walk up to a So So car. And in the Back round there are cars that are extremely Rare or very Disirable. Drives me nuts. And it’s all the time.
The two guys that host "Autobiography" are pretty bad , too. They seem to know nothing about cars. On the Mulholland Road Racing episode they are looking at a car that had went off the road & crashed down the side of the mountain and one of the guys says "that looks like a Fiat Jolly" and it was clearly a VW Thing. They were searching for a wrecked Hemi-powered street racer that had supposedly wrecked down the side of the mountain way back when. They founded a wrecked 4 door Mopar on the side of the mountain and as they are staring at the motor, one of the guys says "I guess we won't know if that is the Hemi or not". The motor looked like a tw0-barrel 318. The carb was melted from the fire, but it was clearly a cast iron two barrel intake manifold.
They never walk up to the Sleepers in the background. They walk up to the stupid cars. That’s my .2 cents
Man those valuable cars arnt so valuable Anymore. Other than the special collection cars. Prices are hitting Rock bottom
That Juliano collection and it's display was OUT OF SIGHT....it blew me away......Patrick...the Mopars did well....and the Opel brought big money in my mind.I don't deal with the commentators but it is very hard to know all the facts on the vast array of cars that cross the block at an auction like that. It costs you nothing for their site and they do not e-mail or send ads....and you can see the results of all the auctions....join my friend ! Peace WildBill
They were AWESOME ! Glad i got so see them in person....each Mopar brought hundreds of thousands of dollars ! Peace WildBill
Hey Bill Any idea why they had wheel covers on the red cuda convertible when it was on display? I think that was the one. Enjoyed talking to you on Wednesday. See you in BG. Zach
