That is what I just described, except with the addition of an original block. If you are doing it I don't see a reason to redouble efforts. o No:
Brian, go ahead and do it, I can't get my hands on a original hemi block, but I can set two 'new' blocks side by side
Didn't get a chance to set the blocks side by side. However, that friend with the replacement non Siamese block told me the original and replacement blocks have a pad on the drivers side pan rail for the Vin number. The Siamese blocks do not. We verified it with our blocks, Donny you might want to ask about the ones you have access to so we can have a bigger sample size. More to come.
Dumbass attack Disregard that last post. I had asked him....are you sure this is correct. "I'm positive" he replied Well, last night I stopped at my buddies house.......... Not only did his replacement block have a pad his original had a pad. Not on the drivers but rather the pass side! Well guess what, where he looked at mine on the drivers it didn't have a pad, but last night when I pulled it away from the wall, and viola! There is the pad on the pass side on a Siamese bore. ou: No more taking someones word, the blocks are going side by side and pictures taken! Sorry for posting miss information.
anything brian ? i looked at an old megablock i have and the castings have changed between the old ( original foundry , galaxy i think?) and the current foundry where my water hemi block came from .
I've been following this thread, but since I don't know that much... what are you talking about? LOL. Could you clue me in on the issue here? It is an interesting thread, but I obviously don't know the basic details.
No.......it'll get done, it's just not the highest on the priority list with Stanton Pure Stock being 2 weeks away. I'm busy and my buddy with the other block and access to the stocker is busy prepping his car.
I have 400+ pictures of different blocks and engines in cars that I am sorting through but for me it is a low priority also. I will get it out to the people who asked asap.
ok , just checking ... i know the feeling , i cracked the dart open this morning and making a debate on whether i do valve seals and an oil pump or just pull the engine and get it ready for the new bullet and wait till next year for stanton ???
