My wife has been putting up with my cars for 18 years she finally decided it was her turn. She really wanted an old wagon so naturally I suggested a Buick. The answer was no she did not like the Buick wagons until we went to look at this 69. It was love at first sight. I will keep everyone updated on the progress of this car. Dave
SWEEEEET !!!!! 68/69 Right-side mirror ??? :Brow: :Brow: My wife is coming around too ... she said the other day she was kinda pissed I sold the other '69 GS Convert. as now that she's a travelling Nurse, she'd LOVE to drive around on nice days with the top down  Now she tells me ... when I was selling it it was "Thank God another one is gone..." uzzled: :spank:
Great looking ride Dave, got to ask what size/brand wheels----they sure dress up a grocery getter. Gene
Isn't it amazing ?? I've been a big fan of wagons for years and have always marveled at how a simple set of wheels and maybe a tint can transform the whole look. Congrats Dave ..... she's a BEAUT - Y
Beats the heck out of an ordinary SUV. Your wife has a lot of class to recognize that being different is pretty cool. Makes me wonder what the "girls" talk about when they're talking about their cars. I reckon mostly how new or how much it costs to demonstrate how much she's loved. Not the cool factor which is more about the person she is. Go ahead and flame me on this one. I don't "get" most women's attitudes about these things. Something new is better than something old. Men are the opposite. Something good is something good no matter how old it is, at least as far as machinery is concerned.
Melissa here using Dave's screen name. I want to thank everyone for all the positive compliments in regard to the wagon. :TU: Dave has been dragging me to car shows for twenty years and now I have finally found my project. Convertibles are cute but I need lot's of room. ChinaMike, Your post started a discussion about what really matters in our lives. Dave and I both seem to have always "fought against the tide" simply due to our personalities or perhaps just maturity. I think being okay with yourself means saying to others that this is who I am , what I like, and I really don't care what you think. I'm sure moms at my sons school laugh at my old wagon but I refuse to care. Your observation on the cost of love is dead-on! Diamonds do not a marriage make. How superficial to believe that love can be purchased. However, your closing comment about men liking older stuff is not evident in the choice of female companionship in many men over 40 who would gladly trade one "fourty" for " two twenties". Melissa, maybe I had a rare moment of brilliance. I qualified my statement about men liking older things to say - about machines anyway... You'll never lose your man for two 20s as long as you like the same things. And in this case it looks like you do. Got a sister looking?
Hey Melissa, all this time I've known Dave and seen him at shows and never saw you (or met you). It's nice to here you on the board here. Hope all goes well with the wagon. I love the 69 sporties.
