Let's see some black on black, black on white whatever you got!!Hope the MAN don't get the wrong impression here!!
'70 Gs 455 Here's an old and not so great picture of my '70 GS 455 Convertible that is currently triple black. Originally it was Diplomat Blue with a white interior and a white top and was one of the 17 with a 3 speed manual. It goes into the body shop this spring to go back to the original color. Ken
Going to be hard to find a pic of a real one as I believe there were 13 black GS converts made in 70 (11 Flint and 2 Freemont) so 71 and 72 were be even fewer. John Schmidt has a 71 and there is another 71 that I believe a member's mother bought new under resto.
Jim,I was just curious if you know or know somebody who knows how many 71 Custom convertibles were made ?
I like the combo!!! Kinda what I'm going for. Right now mine is black with the white top and pearl interior but I really like the triple black look.I live in Iowa so the interior heat during the summer won't be so much of an issue. :TU:
Mike Trom, Marco and some others have the dailey cars reports for 71 I think. A very helpful and sharp group here.
Jeff I probably should have said that based on the relative numbers of overall production in 70 versus 71 and 72 there likely would be fewer in 71-72 than in 70. I do not know the actual 71-2 code 19 numbers. Is your car a code 19?
Sorry that is the Fisher code for black paint. The sales code was A. I think the fancy name was Regal black. So a 19B in a code 67 Buick A body was black paint and a black convert. top. A 188 Trim is black interior. It would be on the cowl tag.
I wonder how many triple black 70 skylark convertibles there were? i had one of those back in the early 90's.
Thanks for that Jim. I had heard it somewhere before but couldn't remember. My CRS( Can't Remember S%#$) is acting up again.
