    Im planning on dropping a 70 350 buick and a 200R4 in a 79 monza :3gears:
    The monza came 3.1 V6 buick,auto,limited slip
I have all the parts to do the swap......I think :puzzled:
Has any one done or seen this swap? It seems simple but thats what worries me.
If its as simple as it looks why isnt it done :Do No:
If I pull it off this hotrod should only cost me $500 or so,in total :jd:
Any advice, questions or opinions are welcome :beer

I've had two 350SBC Monzas in the past, and am currently stuffing a BBC into one.
The BB swap is pretty involved, but the SB cars were "factory".
I wouldn't think you'd run into too much troubles, but can't offer any advice based on real experience.

From what I know though..... headers are going to be your biggest chore. Even SBC headers have to go around the "frame" through the wheelwell on the passenger side.
Maybe there's 350 Buick headers avaliable for the Skyhawk guys. The Skyhawk is basically the exact same car as the Monza. Any Skyhawk parts you find will work.

Good luck and keep us posted! :TU:

we have been playing with the skyhawks for 2 yrs now using the 4.1 v6. headers for the v6 are out there, hooker and the other brand and you have to work to put them on.
btw, if you go to the h-body group site, you can find a lot of info for doing the wheels to 5 lug using s-10 parts.
you can put in a 350, but there is no room for 350 headers w/out going to a tube chassis front end. currently we have 2200lb sq tube chassis hawk that we a 350 in it.
if we find out whats ailing this motor, we will be at cecil next month. damn black cloud hanging over for the past 2 months and its driving me crazy. about to make a flower pot out of it.

Ill be running factory manifolds in this monza, I hope they clear :Do No:
Im trying to do this on a "Mcbudget" if you know what I mean
Im no stranger to sbb swaps every v6 regal Iv had has gotten a 350
But this monza has alot less room under the hood than Im useto
I got this car for a 4.1 project but a nice SB code 350 came along for a song
The only thing that has me worried is the stearing shaft
The V6 has minimal clearance and apears to have a special manifold :puzzled:
I got this car as a winter beater and because it was cheep, it had 4 new shocks, front & back breaks, new batery and a new carb. I started it and drove it home for $250 :beer
So the plan is to make a mean little hotrod on the cheap :TU:

I have 3 200R4s so Im going to try and use one in this project
BTW the 350 has a few leftovers from my last sbb project, like a Poston cam&lifters, high flow oil pump,750 holley and hei :3gears:

hang on the v6 motor. hawks run an elec pump in the tank. putting a mech pump on get tight, although the 350 is longer.
check the oil filter/pump location, may need the v6 one. could be tight. used ours on the tube car because there no way the std 350 was going to fit.
hawks only run a 5/16 fuel line.
steering should not? be a problem, only with v6 headers, ouch.
the oem t-350 is a 2 band vs 3 band. ours takes a beating, it has become a nascar car at cecil. over 40 passes in 2 days and driven down and back from connecticut.
like i said before, go to the h-body site. plenty of answers there, especially on posi's and 5 lug axles, but nothing about buick 350's.

    good luck

If you put a 2004R into an H-body, how do you mount the torque arm? My first car was a 1976 V6/4-spd. Skyhawk S & I recall the torque arm bolting to the rear of the transmission.
