Nothing like a price war to make things better for us consumers. http://www.auto.com/industry/iwiri24_20030124.htm That extra grand to the dealer on cars over 120 days old could be a nice negotiating chip, if I had the money to actually go car shopping. o No: - Freed
Freed , why would you want to go new car shopping when you got the best car made out back in your garage?
Snow, damage, and gas mileage. I tell ya, if I could make that car forever immune to rust and get 20+MPG, I would drive it every day. I'd have to get some serious alarm system on it since I park it downtown, and that should help with the "damage" issue. - Freed
 If my car was "perfect" I'd never have an excuse to get away from the wife!:laugh:Then I would also be really bored!
What GM needs to do to boost sales is produce a car that is fun and that people can afford! Not these over developed show cars that cost over $30 grand.i.e. the new SSR truck.Freed I also sent you a PM.
Full Box inPM Hey Freed your PM box is full again. Tell your girl friend to stop bugging you on the board:laugh:  Seriously, just wanted to recommend a restaraunt there in KC. Houghlihan's Old Place in Overland Park across from Oak Park Mall or down on the Plaza . Also Annie's SantaFe Mexican Restaraunt is another good one down on the Plaza and there both priced pretty decent. Excellent food at both I might add!:beer
Agreed If GM put out something exciting I could afford, I would buy it. I'd rather see that than anything else. As it is, the only exciting car that GM has right now is the Corvette. There is performance to be had in some other models (like the 3800SC cars) but that only comes at the expense of your warranty because you have to go aftermarket to squeeze performance out of them. Even with that, they are all still driving the wrong wheels and don't have posi. (Can you say "Peg-leg burnout"? ) There's a lot of exciting cars out there, and there are more that will be coming out this year. They have power, they handle, and they can come with a 5-speed and something besides an open differential. Some have forced induction, some have all-wheel drive, and some have both. All of them are so popular that dealers have a hard time keeping them in stock. It's a pity that not a one of them comes from the General. ou: - Freed
Jeff, I agree. Detroit doesn't produce anything I actually want to buy. I have yet to drive anything new that drives a well as my Centurion. But I practice Freed's point. I could drop an OD tranny to up gas mileage a little, but I fear for it's general safety. My Camry gets the crap beat out of it in parking lots.
Hey Vic, try racing someone in a 85'Buick Century.Man I'm glad my door latch thawed out so I can drive my Skylark to work again without fear of the passenger door flying open around corners:laugh:
