Here are some interesting markings I've found over the years. Thought I'd share. BB trans code stenciled on the transmission bellhousing. The 2 is for 1972. The number 4 on the turbo 400 torque converter. Probably a Chevy part. LL axle code was found of the right brake drum of a 72 Skylark I parted. 2.73 open axle.
My 71 BB has the same stamping or stencil. I think the 2 must be for second shift as mine is not a 72. Just a guess.
