    hey guys new to the sir I moved out to Cali from Detroit and just bout my first 67 Riviera and it needs some love I been cleaning and cleaning and now I need a timing cover. I have plans to put it on the highway back to Mi but need to put some love on it first. I just pulled the top half and and been cleaning and changed 2 push rods cleaned all the lifters and timing chain hints why I need cover. I am switching out the points for electronics. Dose anyone have any more suggestions before I hit the highway in big baby

    Brakes, especially wheel cylinders, need to be inspected.

    Replace the brake hoses. Internal failure is common.

    I’m doing the timing now do you know where I can get a new or good used timing cover

    I got the hoses and new mater cylinder I wanted to swap them out with front disc and was told scare bird has the brackets

    TA Performance sells new ones. You can buy a used one off this Board. Members will respond to the ad that you posted. We moved it to Parts Wanted.

    I would have the radiator cleaned and pressure tested.

    Smokey15 So old that I use AARP bolts.

    Welcome from west Michigan. If you are going through the brakes, I'm betting you are already checking all of the front/rear suspension. Check tire age. Sometimes they look great but their age makes them dangerous.

    Yep that’s what is left to do after I do the engine I have all the suspension part n house just trying to get this motor clean out back together but I still need a timing cover
