This should be simple enough but just to make sure there aren't any tricks/tips I can take advantage of...............

I'm going out to install my new Q-jet this morning, it's an Edelbrock #1910 850cfm. I plan on using the normal everyday "Mr. Gasket" gasket on top of the stock manifold and the carb right on top of that, Right? I also have an aluminum spreadbore plate I could use under there as I have two gaskets and could sandwich it between the carb and manifold?? Any advantage there??

It just mounts with a thin gasket.

Any spacer you add reduces low RPM torque and adds high RPM horsepower, I believe.

From what I've read thats only true with an open spacer. One with four individual holes should help boost low rpm torque with a slight reduction in top end power.

Well, it's on an running pretty good. I sure have a better idle and cruise. It feels very nice and I just mounted it to the manifold using one gasket. Oh and it feels faster by a good bit. It does stumble off idle if I punch it but it's great everywhere else.

    Thanks!!!!!!!!!!!! :beer

12lives Control the controllable, let the rest go

The stumble should be fixable, either the pump or other adjustment.
