I'm putting a MSD Digital 6 Box on my 67 . How much noise if any do they produce? I want to mount it under the dash to prevent cluter in the engine compartment.:blast:

I have the Digital6 in my car. I have it in the cowl. No noise whatsoever. Just use good plug wires(MSD Superconductors on mine)

Thanks Larry , Did it work as well as you expected? What type of distributor / coil do you have ? Thanks Gary.

    Gary,
It works great, I'm very happy with it. To get the high speed retard to work, you need to buy an RPM activated switch (MSD-8950), and RPM module selector 3000-5200 RPM (MSD-8670), and a common automotive 12 volt relay. You select the degrees retard at the box (0-9.9*) and the RPM it comes in at with the module selector. All the other features are selectable with the rotary dials on the box. I have an ignitionman prepped MSD trigger conversion stock 455 distributor. I also use the good MSD-8200 chrome coil. The Digital6 fried the Taiwan Accel coil, I used at first, in about 3 hours of run time. The box said made in USA, but the coil crimp said otherwise.

    Jim,
Here's a picture of my installation. I use the plastic grills instead of the screening. That way it's easy to pop the passenger side out to adjust the box.

Larry MSD wants those things to be noticed so they paint them red. I would like to see it black which of course would be the most efficient from the standpoint of getting rid of heat. Perhaps it could be primed and painted black?

I think it is anodized aluminum Jim. Can you paint it? Not sure. I guess you could fashion a painted cover for it. It is alot less visible with the hood closed.
