For sale is the wheel and tire combo I purchased to run the green car in GSR at the nationals in 2018. They have a total of 3 burnouts, 10 street miles, and zero passes on them (a broken exhaust clamp rolling out of the burnout box at the GS nationals during my only allotted qualifying pass ended my weekend before I even got to make a pass. It soured the entire thing for me and now I have no desire to run the car again.) I got home, put them on the tire rack in my nice dry shop, and they've sat there ever since. They look absolutely wicked on the car (IMHO), I just don't need them. Anyway, specs: Wheels are Vision alloy 4.75x5 lug pattern. The rears are 15x10 (I cant recall the backspacing, but they fit my 72 Skylark with standard width 8.5" rear with only minor fender lip rolling). They are wearing 28"x11.5" Mickey Thompson ET Street R bias DOT slicks. These were the version with the stickier compound. The fronts are matching Vision 15x4's. They have 15x7 Mickey Thompson Sportsman Bias tires. All mounted and balanced. I purchased all of this new in 2018. I will also include the fender roller I used to roll the lips on my car. Center caps are present and included as well. I am asking $900 for the package, a healthy savings over what I have invested. I do not want to split the combo and shipping would be pricey and a pain in the butt. I am located 40 minutes north of Cincinnati Ohio and just a few miles off Interstate 75. I'm happy to answer any questions. Thanks! -Shawn Pics on the car:
One breakage soured racing for you for a lifetime? I've exploded two diffs, both at the Nats, split a transmission in half, bent two output shafts in the trans, pretzeled a drive shaft that destroyed a high dollar exhaust system and headers with then bashed the floor boards to sh*t,and spun a few rod bearings in my 28 yr racing career. Not to mention the countless other little things that ended a race day for me,and I consider myself fortunate. Sorry to hear this then and hopefully you will regain your passion. GLWS
I don't recall the brand name, but it's one of the articulating adjustable arms that bolts on with the wheel studs so it spins concentric to the rear axle. I would've liked to have known that, I would've enjoyed meeting you Doc! After that I wasn't in much a jovial mood though. I feel so bad because I finally got to meet a few long time members right after who came over to see if what happened and I wasn't my normal chatty self. (Sorry Gary!) Yep, you read that right. There were other factors that lead to the frustration, but that little stupid thing was the straw that broke the camel's back. As a matter of fact, the green cars only been driven a few times since then. If the wife hadn't talked me out of it a dozen times, it would've been sold by now. I admire your perseverance. Haha. Oh yeah, and BUMP! Anyone interested, please don't hesitate to make an offer. I won't be offended, worst I can say is no thanks.
Bro, you just need to get your ass back in the seat and do it again! I’ll be there supporting you. I’ll be driving this car featured below.
Ive seen that car a time or two I believe and it's SHARP! Good luck with the silver car, it's a nice piece for sure! Bet you won't even break the exhaust! haha.
