Hello everyone. I've been on here for awhile but haven't really posted. I own a 67' Skylark with a 430 in it that I bought from my dad. I'm 20 and my dad has had a Buick my entire life. Most of the time he has had 2 actually (at one point he had 3). So I've grown up seeing and knowing the power our big blocks and small blocks can produce. He has a 69' GS with a 350 that runs low 13's and its gone now but he had a 69' Skylark that ran low 11's. Needless to say I've been hooked on Buick's since the first time I saw the headlights of his Skylark shining out of the huge smoke cloud he left after doing a burnout and then launching and yanking the driver side's front wheel off the ground on his way to a low 11 second pass. Which he drove home that night with me and my mom. I think that was one of the most impressive parts for me was he drove the car to and home from the track every time he raced and we would pass cars on trailers that he had beat while driving our car home in the late 90's/early 00's. I've been a die hard Buick guy ever since. I hope to one day build my 67' up to the point I can run low 11's as well, if not 10's. I look forward to talking to all of you on here and learning as much as I can from you guys as well as my dad to achieve that.
Welcome from SE Michigan! Which engine do you want to go faster than your dad with, the easy way with a 455 or the hard way, with a sbb 350? Which engine did your dad go 11s with?
Welcome from Long Island,NY.In 93 I had a street legal GS that ran 10.22 at Englishtown,NJ with the GS northeast chapter, and it got a nice write up in the club newsletter. This on muscle. The only thing not from Buick was the carb, intake ,cam and torque converter.Bruno.
Welcome from WV,my dad got me in to cars and my son has got the bug to.I like to see younger people in to the hobby so they can keep it going, if not it will be lost.
