Looks like you found a good starting spot. From what I can see it looks like excellent material to build on. 455 on the way?:Brow: :TU:
Well i have the 455 planned, as you can see in the background i have a 70 electra that will be the donor. I've just got to get some money since i have no mechanical knowledge or a place to work i will have to pay for all the work done. I went to one of the websites suggested in one of my other posts which gives a list of things i will need for the conversion. Should i get all the neccessary parts and then take the cars to a shop in order to get the labor done? Anyone have any idea on cost for such a modification?
Skeeter, Where in Missouri are you located? I am in Northwest Arkansas, just curious 'cause you may be close to my location. -Chris
Another thing i forgot to ask is if there are pre-drilled holes in the frame for 455 motor mounts, someone told me there are but i'm not sure. Anyone know for sure?
Looks like a good start! Got any other deals like that down in MO Time to start looking for a car for the kid. No rice:TU:
Holes are there, you just need to know which ones and to have the 455 brackets. TA performance and Poston sell them I think. Top forward hole of for the 350 brackets are the bottom hole for the 455 ones. I just did them last night, so I know. Regards, Mark
Nice Car! Nice find, they dont get much cheaper than that! Theres no time like the present to get that mechanical ability. I guarnatee everyone on this board has done things more than once. Its how you learn. Its also more fun. Just a thought. You found a good spot for advice and friends, this board is the greatest! Its all abotu the people. -Jon Welcome!
