Well i've had it several weeks. I sold the Crappillac in late July and picked up this TN Highway Patrol car in August. I really like. Thanks to some guidance and direction from a board member and buddy who sterred me in the right direction. I would consider selling it if ya'll know anyone needing some great transportation @ a affordable price :bglasses: Check it out, i'm proud..... Ronnie
Thanks! Yep, just walk into a Ford dealership and tell them what you need. They come in different styles for different years according to the options the guy @ the parts counter showed me in the computer o No:
  Very Kool driver , But i'd have to get those little antenna for the truck lid !!! Way to many funny moments going thru my head right now ...  :TU:
If I don't sell it, i'm planning on mounting 2 antennas thru the outer holes in the trunk lid. 1 for CB, the other a 2-way motorola antenna that will be my.."cough" external cell phone antenna when I get a hands free mount kit and a new phone. :TU: Ronnie
Ex-Police car, back on duty? :Brow:  I think those would make a nice daily driver, have any idea what engine "mods" are done to the police interceptor. I want the "poverty" caps if i get one. Nice car. :TU: The cousin to the Legendary Mercury Marauder. :3gears: :TU:
My mom has a '95 G.M. "Mercury" that she bought new, now has 95,000 miles on it. In power I can't tell much differance there is "some" but not enough to brag about. 1 second and a couple mph @ most. I ran her car @ Beech Bend last June after the Buick Nats...(ssssshhh don't tell her) and it ran a whooping best of 16.64 @ 85.39  I almost got a nose blend from the g forces lol! The PI doesn't "sound" the same as a civilain car. I think it "might" have a beefer cam and i'm positive it has a better program with raised shift points, higher timing, fuel curve, etc. The frame however, and suspension are totally different as i've compared them side by side. It's a known fact the PI sits on a totally different frame from a civilian car. Plus they have heavy-duty elect, charging systems and oil & trans coolers. Mine rides and handles much better that's the big difference i've noticed, but it does seems to pull the high end a little better also. The sterring is much tighter. I haven't had it to the track yet but when I do i'll let ya know.
Most of the time they don't till they notice I don't have any antennas on the car or blue lights. Once I tint the windows and install the antennas that will cure that problem.
Thanks! I have know problem with keeping it believe me, it's a ggggrrrreat car :TU: However, i'd kinda like to step-up to a '00 or '01. The '00 was the 1st year of the "black trim" on the rear of the car instead of chrome. '01 was the 1st year of not having the black strip or molding across the bumpers and '01 was 1st year of the honeycomb grill. I also may start buying, refurbishing (clean-up & nick-knacks) and selling them. I'd take $4,800 for the 1 i'm driving now if ya'll know of anyone needing some good transportaion @ a affordable price. It's a "southern car" (no rust) Just rolled 158,000 this weekend. Ronnie
I had a '92 Caprice back when the cops were driving them...Sure got tired of people coming up behind then riding in my blind spot for a couple miles until they would pass  Kinda glad it's gone
the chips in these cruisers are programmable & can attain speeds , so i am told by our fleet sgt, of nearly 140 mph .
I had mine up to bout a 100 1 time. I'm really not much into speed in my old age other than 1/4 mile drag racing :bglasses: but i don't doubt that it'd do 140 My moms G.M. shuts off @ 104 mph.
My grandma got a '92 caprice ex-cop car used. When she first got it, she had to go on a weeklong trip and I stayed at her house...with her car. Easily does 100mph and you could see the brake lights light up at night from blocks away. Most recently, when she moved, I used her car to carry stuff and while waiting for her to come back with the moving truck that night, I was parked alongside a warehouse that's right after a big curve (that people speed on of course) and as soon as they came flying around it, brake lights, every single time.
