Well, its on the road now. Quick update. I bought this bike for $450 this winter. It had generic pipes, drag bars that caved in the gas tank sides, A serious float bowl leak, bad front tire, and a destroyed seat & padding. I straightened the tank by drilling five holes, dent pulling, and welding. I stopped at primer grey cause its time to ride! I'll paint it this winter. My wife re-upholstered the seat. Hardly perfect, but a great first time effort. Next one will be tops I'm sure. Hows the stock Harley pipes look? Knowbody wants them and they work great for my application. I made the float bowl gasket rather then spend $28 for a whole kit. It envolves rotating an O ring on a 4" piece of cast iron pipe while heating it with a propane torch! Makes a tight 2" O ring into a managable much larger semi-elastic gasket! Don't laugh. It works great!!! My only emmediate issue's are the noisy valves. I couldn't tell with the hogged out old pipes, but now that its quiet, you can here a lot of chatter. I'll adjust them this week to shut it up. So now I've added about $100 more to my original investment. Cool eh?:TU:

Those bikes are a blast, Dan! Have fun!
I've been told to get rid of my ST-1100... wife's orders. Car or bike- had to choose.

Why not just get a new wife that likes your toys???

I know a ice lady in Florida with the same problem. Her hubby only likes 4 wheels. Maybe you can trade???

Looks good! I've got an 84 V-45 Magna in the collection as well. With the grey on there I was thinking that it might be neat to see this bike in a silver color.

As for your noisy valves, make sure it's not the dreaded cams. The 45/65's cost a packet to get new cams.

Nice ride! I had a little V-30 Magna (1985) a while back. That little thing scooted just fine. I always wanted a V-65 though!

Yeah, I hear you... but I can understand why she wants rid of it. Got a baby on the way that needs a father. Maybe she can find someone nice after I go to Florida, haha.

My 750 Magna moved out pretty well. The ST is faster, but so smooth it doesn't feel as fast for some reason.
