    I just ordered a N25 bumper from Parts Place for my 71, and I need the exhaust tips to fit a 2 1/2" system (Parts Place doesn't have). I'm looking for really nice pieces and the hangers to fit the cutouts. Any leads? Thanks Gord

    This thread has a lot of pictures, and information.

    The 2 1/2" tips are available from Wheelz, ( http://www.v8buick.com/member.php?u=2772 ) and the hangers are available from Underdog350 ( http://www.v8buick.com/member.php?u=6727 ). I have the stainless steel tips from Wheelz, and they are beautiful, but they are not stock size. They are bigger. What this means is that the tips cannot be positioned further out of the bumper like the stock tips. Also, the hangers will not be positioned like stock (at the tip), but on the pipe. I have pictures of my finished installation on the above thread. I had my 70 bumper converted by Rusty Davenport. I am very happy with the finished look. I believe V8Sky used the Parts Place tips even though they are for smaller pipes. The PP tips are closer to stock size as far as the bumper openings go.

    >>I have the Parts Place chrome repro N25 tips on my 2 1/2" dual exhaust system. The muffler shop just resizes the end of the 2 1/2" exhaust to accept the tips.

    ok Chris, did you get the hangers also, and are you happy with the tips you got from them? PP did say that i could get them resized to fit 2-1/2" so if all else fails thats what I'll do, thanks Gord

    >>Hi Gord,
    I had my muffler shop just fab up a metal hanger which is welded to the exhaust so nothing moves. I'm definitely happy with the PP N25 tips - they are a very nice looking repro piece. If you do a search for N25 bumper on the board you will probably come across my old post with pics after the installation.

    I thought there are differences in the finished look and corners of various N-25 tips out there. I remember more than a few people buying a set of repro's only to quickly offer them for resale ... I suspect because the ones they bought just aren't quite right and found better ones from different sources and ended up buying a second (different) pair that they liked better.

    Hey Gord,

    I have what your looking for - 2 1/2" tips and hangers. The tips were never mounted and the hangers were mounted and taken off the car and never used. I went with a Gardner exhaust system instead. Call me at 914-393-3302if you're interested.

    >>Hi Gord,
    Glad you were able to get some N25 tips for your car. The Parts Place N25 tips are very nice - I think you will like them.

    I think that I may know the solution to your problem. I see that you have the main bumper bracket but there is also a skinny bracket that goes inbetween the top part of the main bracket and the bumper. The skinny bracket mounts horizontal and goes from that top hole to the side of the bumper where you use a bumper bolt to hold it in. If you need a pic let me know and I can take one of my set up for you. I'm also pretty sure I have extra skinny brackets if you need them.

    Hmm, that is unusual then - does the bumper actually looked warped? Was the bumper bent there before rechroming? Or perhaps the brackets are from a 1968-69 Skylark?

    Yeah, let us know what you find out on your bumper.

    Your rear brackets look like '70. Similar but not quite the same.
    Look for the stamped numbers on them.
    '70=1233130 & 31
    '71 & '72=1234896 & 97

    I don't think those brackets would have fit a '71 bumper. The more I look at your pics & compare to the parts book, I'm leaning to a '70 front bracket.
