Tonebone, Welcome to v8buick. I cant help you out with your questions. Just wanted to let you know that most of the people on this board are knowledgeable (sp?) about the v-8 engines. However there may be someone who can help o No: Have you checked with the guys over at www.turbobuick.com I would guess that someone over there may be able to help you out.
Those are exceptionally MILD cam specs....sounds like a stock grind. It's good to have a cam with more exhaust duration and lift. You might shoot for a cam with an intake duration of 200-205* (at .050"). Something like that would give you more power, but be compatible with the stock heads. Having some port work done, especially bowl work will really be noticeable!! One thing to keep in mind with the stock heads and valve lift.....the retainer to guide clearance was fairly low - anything more than .420" lift will require guide machining, to give more clearance. If you're building something fairly ratty, that's another story. Let us know a little more about your goals for the car/engine.
I guess I should have worded it differently, I plan on a edelbrock intake manifold, cam , headers and dual exhaust. I have a friend whos dad does headwork also so thats a possibility. But if I remember right stock the engine makes 125 hp and 210 lbs of torque??? what kind of gains can I expect??? Honestly I am surprised now it feels more powerful than my stock 305 camaro, oh by the way its an 84 regal limited
