62 Nationals Those pcxs are great. I have many more Ivo Buick pcx on my website if you'd like to see them. That's Ron Pellegrini in the seat of TV Tom's 4 motor dragster. They only made exibition runs that weekend. Did you notice the camera on the roll bar. The movies they took are really cool. My website is www.standard1320.com
Those pictures are of Tommy Ivo's "Showboat". I'll have to scan pictures of the article that Car Craft featured of his car. Those pictures are just too cool! I have a lot of respect for the Nailhead engines-they made a lot of power and were real reliable.:TU:
Liner Notes about the 62 Nationals: Both Ron Pellegrini and TV Tom are personal friends. Pellegrini had purchased Ivo's Twin Buick in the summer of 1960 and he had both the 4 Motor and the Twin at the 62 Nationals. He was so excited that he had the 4 Motor there that he didn't give much attention to the Twin. I really gave him a bad time about not making the Twin his first priority as it could have easliy taken Top Eliminator that weekend as the best run that weekend was Don Garlits' 8.79 and the Twin Buick could run in the 8.20's.
Hey Bill good to see ya again... awesome pictures! I'm kind of surprised in my memorabilia searching around Indy that I don't find doodly from Indy's golden years... great pictures.
Once I figure out how to post pcxs I'll post a few colored pcxs of Ivo's Four Motor that I bet you haven't seen before
