I've been using this forum fo a couple months and find it to be a great source of information and entertainment. I dread anything that has do with using computers and sometimes don't even get the basic understanding of the simple things. Some questions I havn't seen on FAQ: What is a "board" name? Where a thread writers name is listed under "author" hor is all the other information listed under hais name where you put avatars,. The same question goes for the info under your signature at the end of a posted thread. How do you note a message or the cars you own? I just don't see this in any of the instructions. Am I the only one who can't see the forest for the trees???

    as for your signature.....
while logged in. click on your "user cp" icon near the top of th page.
then click on your "edit profile" icon .... down where is says "signature" you can type all the stuff you want to appear at the end on every post you write .... you know, your name, shoe size, favorite color, ex-wives names and addresses ... you get th picture. .... most of use this area to brag about our collection of buicks etc... hitting return/enter on your keyboard while typing this info starts a new line each time.

Thanks, I suspected as much. What about where the avatar would be located? Anyway, Currently have a '64 Skylark mild custom (just purchased) with a '78 350/THM400. Nice car, needs mechanical TLC. Collecting parts for future conversion to phantom "GS" status. Have tall spindles and Hotchkis arms, 425" Nailhead and most needed parts, SP THM400, and a bunch of other stuff. But I don't have the time!!! Also have T bucket with 425 GS 2X4 mtor & THM400. I've been driving that for 30, yes 30 years. Had a '48 Super Sedanette for a bunch of years but had to sell it cause I couldn't find the time or space to build it. It was a real nice stocker that most of the afore mentioned parts were originally intended for. Had some others too but never built them Same old story. Now that you know more than you wanted, thanks again for the reply.

Tom, the Avatar is under User CP then Edit Options and at the very bottom you will see avatar on the left. You can choose between one of the ones in the data base or uploading your own. If you choose to upload your own I believe it must be 150x150 pixels (or smaller), and under 40Kb. If you have a picture to resize and need help doing so, many people on this board including myself, Smartin, David G, and Buickstreet can help you do this. Hope that helps!
