    What's a Good Rebuilt Kit for th-350

What's a good rebuild kit for the th-350? I will not be racing or anything, so I don't need something expensive. I'm a poor college student, so I'm looking for a good kit at a good price. Thanks!

Mike, You'll probably get more response to your question if you post it in the automatic "Juice Box" forum. This forum is the manual trans forum and doesn't get nearly the traffic. :)

    Rebuild kits

I like the Transtar kit's sold by Northern Auto Parts (and others I'm sure). Very nice, complete kits. The TH350 kit is $69.99.

I bought the Transtar kit from Northern Auto and it arrived the next day. The kit is in and I can't wait to put the tranny and engine back in.

To be honest, it was not nearly as hard as I thought it would be. I'm 21 and have never had a transmission apart and I did fine. The main thing is to take your time. It does help to get a book about the th350 like I did. You will need to go to a professional to have them press in some bushings, but that only takes 30 minutes or so for them to do. The hardest time I had was finding someone who would just press in the bushings. Everyone wanted to rebuild the whole thing. To do the job, you need a parts washer, torque wrench, and patience. I paid $78 (including shipping) for the kit, $35 to have the bushings pressed in, and $15 for the book. If you have the time, it's kinda fun to do the work yourself. I know I take more pride in something I did myself. Here's the book I bought (try to find the cheapest place, this link is just for reference):

    I hope that helps.
