I'm looking for something to put my wife in of her own.

After attending the .F.A.S.T./Factory Stock Drags last weekend, my wife told me she wants her own car to race.
Here is a short list of what we think we're looking for...

1)Has to be something that can be raced at the Pure Stock Drags, so I'm looking for something with as few modifications as possible. I can deal with removing headers, chrome valve covers, etc. Not looking for a car that got dragged through a jegs catalog and snagged every piece of chrome and braided hose.

    2) prefer GM Musclecar

    3) Presentable paint, older resto or well maintained paint is fine, but ultimately it needs to be "NICE",minimal blems and a STRAIGHT body.

    4) (her wording here) NO FUGLY COLORS browns, golds, tans, etc.

    5) Clones may be considered if done correct and nice.

    6) we're not made of money, so for starters we're going to see what we can get for 12,000ish.

***May also consider a mostly restored car that is ready,or almost ready for paint, or a painted car that needs assembly, or a super nice rolling body needing engine/trans***

My personal feelings are a 71-72 GS, or a 67-69 Firebird

    Thanks,

Doesn't HAVE to be a 71-72 GS or a 67-69 Bird, we will look at other years and models.

Whats out there??? Leads are appreciated:TU:

This is really sad. Our own daughter turned breech in the last day at full term, so rather than risk this, we decided to have a C section.

Have to think you could make something out of that 64 Lemans or that Firebird. Personally I like the 72 booger wagon...

Followed the conversion of his red 66 Cutlass convertible from a very nice stocker to the cruiser in the pics. This guy does really nice work.

    Woo Hooo ... Go Danielle!!!
So glad to hear it's actually going to happen!!!
Can't wait til Sept. Hope you have a car by then.

    All I can say is.......
    Awesome - Awesome- Awesome

Let us know when you find it. As Tim told me when I was looking for my car -"Does it grab you by the balls?" If so, that's the one.

OK, then that rules out just about any Mopar and 1970 GM product, especially Buicks.:error:

If you are looking for something on the cheap, then your best bet is to find something incognito, like your old T-37. There's a 383 4-speed 1970 Sport Satellite on eBay that satisfies those requirements.

    Tom,

My cousin Peter Germani is going to put the 71 GTO 455 HO up for sale. I might not meet the "fugly" color requirements. Let me know if you want some info.

    One down, one to go...............

Bought one for me today, just need one for Danielle:rolleyes:

This car is a 41,000 mile one repaint survivor, it's pretty fricken COOL!
Came with the original dealer envelope in the glovebox that holds the warranty paperwork, the protect-o-plate, original dealer invoice, some old North Carolina safety inspection papers kind of confirming the mileage, etc.
This is the "SP" code 315hp 350. Neat car

You had to take that one cause the color is to "fugly" for her, right?

That would look nice parked next to Munson's Olds.

Think Olds called that color "Baroque Gold". We redid a 70 Olds Cutlass Supreme SX in that color combo. Looks really good with the bright wheels and the Vinyl Top. Nice car. Great find.
