Yeah she didnt appreciate that comment. Stormed out to go burn a hole in my credit card.
So far its just been me and my daughter (70lbs), no problem. I went to take my daughter and my wife (more than 70lbs) and the driveshaft rubs on the floor. Truth is it did it with just me in the car just not as bad. It ony rubs when the rear springs are compressed. I seem to remember when the driveshaft shop was rebuilding it they said something about using a larger tube than stock. Looks like 3 (maybe 3 9/16) tapered down to 2 . Is this stock? If not what is? I installed 1 lowering springs although if you compare it to what stock is supposed to be its more like 1 . If the driveshaft is the correct size I suppose I can solve the problem by raising up the rear end. Any thoughts on how to do it without changing springs.
    Thanks

    Stock d-shaft dia is 3"
You need new springs or better rear springs such as progressive springs.

They are new springs, just 1" lower. I like the way the car sits and dont want to raise up the rear end. What are these progressive springs you speak of? A 1/2 narrower driveshaft might do it though.

Not really the best idea, but I would temporarily put in those rubber donuts. Don't know what they call them? :Do No: They go between the coils and lessen spring compression. Look like big rubber donuts. I used them once to solve a tire clearance problem! They should get you by until you order better springs.

  6. coil-over shocks, and it was a bad idea to use a bigger than stock diameter tube when they rebuilt the driveshaft. Could it be the shop was trying to get you in for spring work? Not to sound too retarded but is it leafs or coils? Coil over shocks is the easiest quick fix I can think of.

The shop only does drive shafts so I dont think they wanted spring work.
    They are coil springs.

keep the wife and get new springs. Easy for me to say.. But in any case sounds like you need spings, not a new wife or new shocks.

Any suggestions on the new springs? I dont want the car to be too high in the back.
Oh yeah stay away from coilsprings.com these were supposed to be heavy duty 1" drop made specifically for my car.
