Recently purchased a consolette for my 4 speed gs. I have no clue on how to mount or any other parts needed for the install. The consolette option was not original to the car,but I had to have it to give it that finished look. Any help? Thanks Kirk Firestone In Spokane, Wa.:3gears:
I take it your car is originally a granny tranny and has been switched to a manual. Mine is the same way. I'm not sure of the correct fastner but I just lined mine up to where the shifter had a balanced range of motion in both directions and marked the carpet around it. Then disassemble the to pieces and then used self tapping screws to bolt down the bottom plate. Be sure to have the cup with bezel or tach installed when you initially line it up to make sure they clear the dash bottom where the ash tray is. My guess is someone on the board knows the correct fastning method if this is crucial to your application.
:3gears: Thanks Eddie and Jim. Car is an original 72 u code 4speed. I will see what Jim has got and if all else fails try your suggestion Eddie. Thanks Kirk. fax is 509 484 8385
Hello, Mr. Jim Lore, Would you please FAX the diagram to me also, Attention: Dennis 262-252-5795 Blessings to you, take care.
quality isn't the greatest.... I also have pics of the carpet 'cut' and the 3 lag bolts to attach it to the floor..:TU: THANK YOU BRIAN JACKSON FOR THE PICS!!!
Thanks a million, George! Great work as always -- with a caring, concerned, true heart for humanity. Better than Obama!
The lag bolts are wrong:spank: It's actually a philips screw (x3) that holds it down. And if I could find the baggie they are in, I'd take a picture. The assy man shows shims used in the lower bolt and denotes that the most rear screw is omitted with ACo No: No idea what one has to do with the othero No: I've never seen the shims installed.
