Two weeks ago I decided to drive the wagon to work. While at work I take a break to check under the hood. I start her up to check the trans fluid. Low and behold I have a gas leak coming from where the filter housing meets with the carb body. I pull it off and check and see if we can get one, I work at Oreilly. no dice cannot find one at all. Luckily one of our delivery drivers checks with a professional customer and he has one. Well the leak is solved for now but what about next time. Does anyone have a source for one of these gaskets? Tim
Yes, we have them on our site. They are hard to find local anymore. I have a customer tell me a couple weeks ago he found 1 (only 1) at some hot rod shop and paid $12 for it. The 71 and older use a different gasket than the 72 and newer. https://www.quadrajetpower.com/onli...et-71-and-earlier-THICK-fiber-style-p82330332
Leaks are common at the fuel filter housing gasket on 1971 and older Q-jets. The threads erode away over time and the fitting no longer holds well enough to keep the gasket compressed. Be very gentle tightening down the fitting as it's pretty easy to strip out the treads on those models.......Cliff
