Im looking at a holly 750 street hp series carb with vacuum secondaries and a tci 350 street fighter. Does that really sound like a good match and would it really work with a higher cam ? Also what size torgue converter would I use ? Any suggs would be great full. I know ya guy know a lot so I ask.
The holley 750 is a good carb for a Buick 350. The Q-jet would be better for a street car in terms of mileage, but that's up to you. The TCI street fighter transmissions are very nicely built and shift harder the more throttle you give it. Had one in back of my 72 Skylark 350, and I liked it. What torque converter you need depends entirely on how your engine is built, and you haven't told us anything about that. the torque converter should be matched to the cam.
Im useing a msd distributor and a gs 350 cam 114 lobe 270 intake 276 exhaust .480 intake .485 power range 1500 - 5800 thats waht im looking at so far.
.. Would a saturday night special, from a th350 from a Gm G body monte carlo work for my transmission and hook up to the flex plate? My brother has one.
I think it should. Be careful about using a used converter on a new transmission. You could contaminate the new trans if there is metal in the used converter.
so it will all work ? My brother says a chevy and buick have the same trans. But different bell houseing. So this would really work for me .
The bell housing of the Chevrolet transmission has a different bolt pattern then the Buick-Olds-Pontiac trans. The converters should be the same however. You want to use the whole transmission from the G-body? I thought you were talking about just the converter.
