I'm new to the boards, I submitted this under the paint board, but it may be better here???

I'm trying to decode the cowl tag. I have a paint code NNA

I went to http://www.buicks.net/years/65/65paint.html which tells me the car came Burgundy Mist Poly (NN), but how does the Regal Black (A) fit in? I'm unsure if it was a two tone car?

Also, does anyone know where can I find the trim codes?

    Thanks

I suspect you are talking about the vinyl top code. I recall A was white. What is your trim number . I suspect it is 154. Am I correct?

SO it had a vinyl top. I should search for the build sheet to find more.

yep you're correct, the trim is 154
there's also Body BF 5632 ,if I copied that correctly. And an A49

Doo Wop Where were you in '62?

Trim # 154 indicates Ivory bucket seats in my book.

Yes that was the usual combo to match his white vinyl top.

    Korrie how ya been?

thank is a wild pairing, I should get it back to original but add some metalic to the Burgundy Mist . So heavy Metalic Burgundy Mist with a bright white vinyl top and Ivory interior. That would be an attention getter.

The "BF 5632" is the body ID number, "BF" = Buick, Fremont plant.

The A49 should represent custom front seat belts (possibly with retractors).

Thanks Mike, Korrie and Jim. I'll have to search for the build sheet next. The fremont plant isn't far from me, although it's now making Toyota trucks.

When I bought the car, the guy said it hasn't left the bay area, which is kinda cool.

I'll let you know if I find the build sheet
