I currently own a 1978 buick estate wagon(B-Body) with a GM code G83 Ring Gear (8.75in....yes thats not a typo) with a GU2 2.73 I am looking for a posi( 3.23 or 3.73) set for my car and i am unable to locate a replacement set anywhere. Does anyone know where i can or do i need to find a swap to a 8.875? Basically any information or advice would be greatly apprecaited
Well that rear does not have any aftermarket support. Other info : ratios available are 2.28 2.41 2.73 3.08 3.23 3.42. I am pretty positive there is NO 3.73 or higher. I will ahve to check the books. Jim So what is out in the world and the junk yards is what you get...UNLESS there is a dealership with a few on the shelf. That is more than possible but to find that place will be tough. Jim
