Hello. I se two different lifters for 430's, one for solid pushrods, one for hollow. Other than the oiling hole, are these lifters the same specs? I am wondering if I can just use the solid pushrods with the lifters that have the oiling hole. The pushrods should block the oil, it's a common swap for the mopar guys.

The 430's oiled the rocker arms through a passage in the block, and head. This led into the rocker shaft, and onto the rockers. The 455's oiled the rockers through the lifters, then through the hollow pushrods, and then onto the rockers. You have to oil the rockers. Use one system or the other. Most guys opt to close off the passage in the head, and block, then use the 455 lifters and pushrods.

You might want to check the cup size in the lifter. The solid pushrods are 3/8'' on the end ,,,,, most lifters with the hole are 5/16''. The depth should be the same too.

Yes, the tips between the two generations are different radius. No the solid pushrods will not block the hole completely. If you want to use oil through lifters then use oil through pushrods, if you are still using 430 rockers TA has a hybrid pushrod that has the small tip for the lifter and the larger tip for the rocker. Or you can put 455 rockers on and update the whole valve train oiling to the 455 type. Like Larry said, if you use the oil through system you will have to block the oil feed holes in the heads.
