    Brian,
Was at a salvage yard today and they told me about a Merc they had. I was taken to it and I think you may have an interest. It did have all glass intact until this past weekend when kids had to smash stuff :af:. Take a look and call me - 814-797-2987 home 814-797-5146 shop

just looked and realized that you can't see the 4spd hole in the floor :3gears:

The reason for needing a quick responce is that it is going to get moved off the hill tomorrow and I don't know how long after that that it'll be around. I have it held for now.

That really would make a great Pure Stocker. Have to paint it apple green, though. 62?

Nah, not Apple Green. How about two-tone red and white -- both the exterior and interior?

What's the biggest/best engine available for that car? Could be fun ....

turns out the car is a special ordered 300hp 390-4v, 4spd, 2dr post, Polar White, blue interior and 3.50:1 rear.

Wow, that car sounds cool! And a post! If it were a '63-64, I'd be less impressed because Mercury was beginning to come into its own. In '62, they're still kinda strange.

So what happened with this car? Anybody save it?

Yeah, they were REALLY strange a few years before that!  Then again, so was everybody else. Was looking at a 61 Dodge barge at Bakers Sunday. That was before drugs, too.... (well at least in most places. Berkeley and Ann Arbor were the exceptions........)

I decided to pass. Lon said he knew of some others who might be interested or he might put it in his own private junkyard for a while.

Well I certainly understand that, Brian. Hopefully somebody will return it to some semblance of glory. Don't see that every day. D

Probably not. It cost me an extra trip down (closed the first time :Do No: ) and due to tax it was $0.34 than what I'd told you I could get it for :Dou:
