    Another ?

I noticed that some GN,s have a T in the middle of the steering wheel and some have the Tri shield whats up with that ? and I am going to stay away from Ebay cars you cannot really tell what the car is in the pics. I seen one I really liked so I asked for more pics. and the back Quarters were rusted through after I zoomed in and I couldn't see that in the regular pics. at all, Ebay cars I'll pass I hope there are alot at the BPG in Salem. :(

I have owned 3 87 turbo cars now, I love em. Your right about E-bay, be VERY careful. These cars demand alot out of you to maintain them in perfect running order. Go see it in person and drive it, or have someone who is familiar with them drive it.

As 71 buick GS mentioned, watch out for cars with too many mods. Way too many guys have the idea that more is better and just bolt on alot of crap that really isnt needed. Start slow and learn the car.

Be sure to take a scan master with you, these tools are incredible , and will tell you every detail of how good or bad the motor is running. Mine stays on top of the radio center so I can tell quickly what hapening internally to my engine.

After having 2 black cars and a white one, hands down the white is easier to keep clean! That black paint does look great if you are willing to dust it off every hour.

Be prepared for a whole new experience, they are incredible.:TU:

I'll be ready for the new experience and the scan master is a good idea, but dusting it off maybe the Wife will do that since she likes the color black on the GN so much just maybe ? I can hear her now  but if she wants to drive it ALITTLE she has to help, thanks for the info now I have to find one thats worth the blood-sweat-enjoyment thanks Dan.

GN's are supposed to have the tri-shield horn button. Probably what happened was the common cracking f the horn ring that is plastic and held by the two allen screws (others are faux). Over tightening leads to cracking. The replacement units (ring and button) were more common to the ones with the T's in them as the GN units disappeared quickly. You can find a tri-shield button is that concerns you as a used piece by searching.

Are you scoping out Auto Trader.com? I'd be prepared to travel if in the market for one. Take your time too.

I'll second the white as a color of choice! It's said to be the most in demand color for a TR!

    For Sale

Dan - My friend is bringing an 87 to Salem that is for sale. Motor was professionally done recently by either Ron's or Stage One, both in New Jersey, runs very sweet and STRONG. Car was repainted about two years ago?? The owner is a perfectionist! Anyway it looks nice, he's done a lot to it, needs nothing. Let me know if you want his number.
