If the fan shroud is a correct reproduction of an original 70 I will purchase one. Thanks again for reproducing parts for Buicks.

    Shane,

How do I "pre-order" one? Is posting here all that is required, or should I call The Parts Place?

    Your PM box is full.

    Thanks.

You all will need to call in with a credit card to reserve one at that price, you won't be charged till they ship out. Thanks

Reproduction 70 GS 455 Fan Shroud

Shane, can you give us some idea as to when you will be posting pictures of the pre-production fan shroud? Before production begins, will anyone from the Buick restoration community(JW) receive the pre-production fan shroud, allowing for the comparsion of it to an original shroud?

JW does have a virtually perfect original 70 shroud sitting there that he could compare it to. :TU:

    Shane,
You might want to verify the the correct type of plastic to use in the fan shroud. I believe the originals were made of Poly Propelene. P/P is more flexible than ABS plastic and is currently being used in most of the large truck fan shrouds I work on. I have repaired a few fan shrouds and ABS adhesive will not stick to them.

I thought the exact same thing when I read they were going to be ABS plastic. The Poly shrouds get enough cracks as it is, what will a rigid ABS do?
