The air sure was super this weekend! Bite was there at Cecil, too. First run 9.98 /132, second 9.96/133. 1.37 60 ft. (that HRPARTSNSTUFF bar is workin!, Thanks Paul!) This has gotta be some kind of record with a streetable, runs on pump gas (12-1), race on Cam2, HYDRAULIC cam TA 608B, all steel except front bumper (3710 with driver). Bruce
Jeez! With all of you breakin' 9's with these bricks the bump at Quaker might be under 9.50!!!! Nice numbers Bruce! Now you have all winter to make it quicker! Gee, I better get busy. Only nine months away!!
Thanks... nah, Bill....putting a nice exhaust on it over the winter. Need to work on my other project (XJS not GSX) so I can debut it next year. Bruce
Bruce, Great JOB!!!! The air must have been awsome. How much better were you running this weekend compared to the Northeast Chapters event at Cecil? OH.... and this is the combo without any girdle????? AWESOME!!! Take Care
Winter projects for Bruce: 1. Get cage certified 2. Get a complete fire suit 3. Obtain comp. license 4. Install window net 5. Read rule book for maney other issues. Way to go Bruce!! Wish I had your to do list.
Bruce GREAT JOB! It really makes me wonder what the wagon would do. Oh well next year will be here soon and I hope to have the 494 with the same cam etc. Shayne If I remember correctly Bruce needs a cage First! Great end of season everybody Bill
John, it was about .25 quicker than the NEGSCA race. The air was crazy! The most pressure I've ever seen (on a RACE day, middle of Feb doesn't count!) No, this car is slowing down if anything....it's a real GS455. But hmmmm, 494 stroker, flow the intake, solid cam, port the heads, 1150 carb, more converter, take the beams out of the doors, ...... No, I'm happy with this car the way it is. Putting an exhaust on and back seat back in for the NMCA 10.50 index races. Bruce
The air was so good it was pushing the air out of my tires!!! Seriously, I had a 1 pound per 5 min leak in one of my slicks. Made for some interesting staging lane antics.....had to set the air at the last minute literally and hope there was no delay or pinhole didn't open up on the burnout or down track! Made me wish I had a cage on one pass (or the tires screwed to the rims)!
Bruce This post actually made me smile....Got home from work w/ a headache and needed some good news. I'm really bummed that Norwalk didn't do their November T&T yesterday.......Temp,44 degrees,Barometer,30.66,All w/o the perpetual headwind at Norwalk. We need to get you into a 3400 lb car..... :Brow:
Congrats to you Bruce, youv'e got that car flyin' for sure! 9.98? WOW!!!! it's amazing what you have done with that ride, its good looking and definately huals ASS!! gladto see the HR Bar is Working well!! Bruce
Congratulations Bruce That is "AWESOME" You are right the HR Parts-N-Stuff bar works great. I really like mine and I have only been to the track once since I got it on. Are you running a transbrake ? your car really 60' :TU:
Thanks to all..... Todd, no transbrake....don't like 'em. It's got an 8 in ATI "Treemaster", the tightest one they could build about 4200 flash. Seems like I could use more now with the sway bar but then I might have too many rpms in the traps (now 6500) and probably not hook in the summer heat. Bruce ------------- 9.96/133 at 3710 lbs
Thanks Alan....yup good way to end, one slick won't hold air so I won't be tempted. But if I put a tube in there.......or some green slime. No, it's gonna hibernate. Bruce
