Previously the car had run 5.25 in the 1/8th. Since then the chassis/cage has been upgraded to a 7.50 certification with a fab'd 9 inch rear in place of the old 12 bolt. I also added a "beefier" set of chromoly ladder bars and tweaked the rear geometry some. To help offset some of the added weight, we chip away a few pounds in other areas. Most notable is a spindle mount front wheel update. I think the car wants less rear gear, especially with the 28" required for this particular race. (The car has been 131+ in the 1/8th with a 30" tire) Video is a 5.24 and then you can see the slip for the new best.
That's the baddest Burford on the planet no doubt running faster than blower cars thru a single carb and all nat-ur-al!! Awesome job Gary
This thing sounds absolutely insane in person,...like a damn promod ,..you can feel the power in the ground
And, he took his foot out of it at the end evidenced by the slower mph than the 1/8th. Could have been faster ET??? Tom T.
Awesome Gary! Your car is impressive as always and just sounds downright nasty. For those of you that don't know Gary......this dude IS the definition of "Fast With Class"
Very much so,..car is done right no matter where you look And I've said this b4 ,....but Gary is doing more with less ,..that's what makes it so impressive,...that kind of power and performance from a single carb,..on a cast intake is damn near hard to fathom,..NO MATTER the make of the engine
