Hi there, I've installed a cd player into my 70 skylark and tapped into the cigarette lighter as a acc. line but the memory in the cd player won't hold. Any suggestions ? Thanx!!!

where did you hook the yellow wirefrom the CD player?
it is the one that should be hooked to constant power (BAT on the fuseblock or cig lighter wire) .

the red wire from your cd player should be hooked through your original radio's power wire(possibly a yellow wire) or hook it to the fuse box to the terminal labeled ACC.
    keep us posted :TU:

The cd player should have a separate power line for its memory - its not the main power wire.

many times on gm cars the wire that turns the radio on is yellow so people will hook the yellow wire from their CD player to it and the assume the red would be for constant power ...when actually that is backwards .... it is probably the most common wiring mistake on radio installs.
luckily it dont hurt anything ...and once you have done it wrong and then corrected it, you will always remember in the future how to do it right. :bglasses:
