new GM radio upgrades

    I just bought a new GMC truck, and it has the stock radio and 4 speakers. It is not the upgrade Bose unit with the subwoofer and the 6 CD changer.

    I had the Bose upgrade on my last truck and it was OK but not great.

    Is it possible (anything is possible, I guess; is it reasonable?) to improve the sound in this truck without replacing the head unit?

    I might be willing to add a sub and an amp or two if that might be a good idea...

    I would replace your head unit it will really surprise you how much better the sound is i put a kenwood excelon unit in my 2005 Ram quad cab .what a difference.

    Aren't there difficulties with the chimes and thje alarm and the computer and ... ad nauseum if you change the head unit???

    i am not sure on a GM but you can ask an installer .
