Just checking in with my first post. I am the proud new owner of a 1970 Buick Skylark Custom convertible. The car is Fire Red, with a white pearl interior, and white top. It has the 350, 4bbl, and AT. The car is mostly stock. There are some items with the car that I want to change, but for now it's fine, and I look forward to driving the car for now. Some quick questions, if I may. Where should I be looking for a OE bumper jack and lug wrench (Ebay?) and how much should I pay for a piece that could be restored back to factory stock condition? Also, other than Cooper or Coker tire, is anyone making a narrow whitewall tire (radial) that would look good on this car? It has the rally wheels. Thanks for your suggestions and information, and I am looking forward to participating...... Marshall
Welcome. Sounds like a beattiful color combo you got there. I got my jack off ebay, but i know junkyards have them. I paid $50 for mine and just had to be cleaned and repainted.
If you want the correct date coded parts an ad on this Board under "Parts Wanted". It is free. Another choice are red line tires. Another manufactuer is Diamondback out of Conway, SC. http://www.dbtires.com/store/shoptire.cfm?size=15.00 You may look to Tire Rack for cheap tire sales.
Welcome Marshall - that is the best color combo but then I am a bit biased:laugh: Post some pics of your Buick when you can!
Thanks for the warm welcome!!! I will have some pictures ready to load up shortly. I better go back and read the rules and FAQ about upping my post count, so that I am able to attach some photos. Marshall
You can attach photos now. You must have 10 posts to attach links. You're only 4 away from that , now
Thanks again to everyone for making me feel at home. I haven't wasted any time on the restoration work, so keyboard time has been limited, but I visited several different areas of the forum and have received some excellent help.
