Ok I know this is going to be a very subjective question and answers, but I appreciate all feedback. This is my first restro on a 72 vert, so here goes.

I've been making a list of all the items I plan on replacing as to the interoir, parts place and year one, are their other vendors? If not, what's the preferance as to if you had to order new front and rear door panels, seat covers, etc, that are ready to go and all you have to do is hang the hardware. I'm not doing a concours restro, so repop stuff is ok by me.

As always, all you guys rock! I'm so gald we have this board!

    Thanks,

    Steve

I just ordered power window door panels from Poston. Three weeks wait. However, they did have a few sets of manual window style in stock. They had the best price I could find.

Legendary is generally considered the premier manufacturer for interiors. As for vendors, the one with the best prices...

    GStage1 Always looking for parts!

There are 2 manufacturers of door panels and seat covers.

    1. PUI in KY
    2. Legendary in NJ

I have used both and have not noticed in my opinion the price justification for the Legendary parts being more money.

If you have not done door/side panels before see the article on our site on how to redo them....re-use your metal upper support. You can buy "ready to install" panels but you can save quite a bit of money if you are willing to do some work yourself.

As for pw and manual panels....they are the same...just use a utility knife to cut the round manual window crank holes to squares for the power window switches. All PUI backer panels have all the hole pre-located with a pre-cut outline for you to follow when you use the utility knife.

I also have an article on seat cover installation. Take into account some seat springs will be broken or badly damaged and they will need to be fixed and/or replaced with new ones or good ones from a donor seat. Make sure you buy new seat foams for buckets if you have them.

    HI George,

Here's a funny for you. I bought the vehicle from Podboy, and the car came with manual windows, but he bought a complete power window setup from you, so I plan on going with the power window setup when I put it all back together. Unfortunatly, the door panels are unusable, so that's why I'm going to go with new. I love your site george!! Thankyou for putting that info up on the web, can't tell you how many times I reference it.
