Acme makes really nice stuff so this one should be pretty nice. It's been a while since any 1:18 Scale Buick stuff has been done. I'd really like to see some more 70/71 GS and GSX Models but nothing on the horizon. Thanks for looking.
SO um, HEY TODD! YOU SEEM TO HAVE CONNECTIONS, RIGHT??? When ya gunna convince someone out there to manufacture a 65 GS??? There are GTOS, 442's... Chevelles... Mustangs... Belveders, ...heck, put me in line for a few 65 Buick GS models...OHHH YEEAAH BABY! I'd even ship them my CAR to acquire 3D specs from....:beer:TU::beers2: Wheelz, Tampa Bay
I sure hope we see some 65's. And even some 68/68 Skylark GS Models! IF and when they are produced I'll definitely stock them! Thanks for the order!
When oh when will they ever release one of my Maggot??? lol The quality of these looks great and it's nice they are going somewhat non mainstream..
I actually met Tom and his son Matt years ago when the company I used to work for handled imports for GMP. Nice guys, very friendly and very knowledgeable about cars. Their own personal collection of die-cast models is amazing! I have a GMP Yenko Camaro and a '72 Olds Cutlass that they gifted me about 10 years ago for helping them out with some export shipments. I wonder if I could convince them to do a '70 Wildcat convertible. ray:
A Wildcat would be cool!!!! I know and have been working with Tom $ Mat since 1999. I'll put a bug in there ear!!:TU:
Beautiful Die Cast. But as attractive as it is, it's hard to convince myself to buy another Die Cast, when I have a few tote boxes full of Danbury Mint and the other ones, Franklin Mint Die Casts, virtually worthless and not even worth their original face value. Some of them have never seen the light of day, still all packaged in the Styrofoam. Even the nice case to display them is worth a few hundred skins. But I still want it....
I feel your pain but a quick search on e-bay will tell ya that SOME companies such as GMP and Acme (1:18 Scale) have not only held there value but have went up. Some models bringing 3 to 4 times there purchase price. But I will say that is a similar situation to our REAL Cars in the sense that it is certain car (Brand Names) that have went crazy in value. Not trying to talk you into one but simply commenting on the value of some of these cars/brand names. It's been a while since any 1:18 Scale Buicks have hit the market so this one is bringing some excitement to the hobby. Thanks for checking it out.
I concur with Todd! I bought a 65 Chaparrel by Auto Art 9 or so years ago because I built a slot car back in 67, using the body of a Chaparrel... the action of the rear wing was awesome on a slot car... anyway, that 1:18 scale model was $33 and change back then. I thot it was expensive. They are selling on Flea Bay now for $135-175! ..and thats just one of the many examples stashed in my Addict MaanCave!!! :Brow: Wheelz, Tampa Bay
