I'm jelous!!!!!! Thats beautiful!!!:bla: If I seen that car I too would have jumped on it!!!!! More Pics please!!!:beers2:
Great looking car Todd!:TU: ....It gave me goosebumps when I saw the pic. I have a little Ford blue in my veins as well...my first car was a '66 GS, and my second was a '67 Fairlane. While the 289 4 speed was fun to drive in a lighter, slightly smaller Fairlane, the Buicks nicer trim and more solid build swayed me to correct more Buicks than Fords....current ratio is 6 Buicks to 3 Fords:grin: A few upgrade to your Skylark will make a lot of difference....consider a faster-ratio steering box, a bigger front swaybar, a rear swaybar, and maybe even disk brakes. I did those changes to my '66 Special, and it made it much more fun to drive. Welcome to V8 Buick!:beers2:
Todd, those same codes decipher as follows for a 1966 Special: A7 High Performance V8 Engine, 340 cid 4bbl B1 Super Turbine Transmission C6 Power Steering D1 Sonomatic Radio w/ manual antenna I6 Air conditioner L1 Soft-ray tinted glass O4 Door guards V2 Chrome plated wheels looks like a match!:beers2:
Thanks for the kind words. I really do love most all cars, but I've been driving Fords for over 30 years. Here's a picture of my '65 Mustang that I've owned since 1980... and it's hardly stock anymore. My plan is to keep the buick somewhat original. We'll see how long that lasts. Currently, the mustang is flat black primer. I'm on the fence about what I direction I want to take it.
Great find ! I had a simular unit for 7 years and loved it. 1967 Buick Special Deluxe 300 2 bbl changed to cast iron 67 4bbl. ST300 trans a/c Skylark polished grille
Todd, Great looking '67! Like the Mustang also! You'll love the '67. I'm a little prejudiced, but the 66 - 67 Skylark / Special body lines are the best Buick ever designed. BTW, what area of the country are you located in? Steve
