Laugh all you want Dan, but I'll bet theres at least $3.87 worth of good parts between all those hulks Sooo....which one is gonna be your new drag car at salem this year ?? :Brow:
I think I'll take that old DeSoto Hemi and weld up a slingshot frame. That'll make a neat racecar. :3gears: (Just kidding, I have zero time to even try that)
Those pics remind me of my Grandparents woods (and into the pasture). They had a bunch of "shoe box" Chevies, mostly 56's, sitting. When the car would die my grandfather would pull the motor, tranny, rearend, and frame and drag it down to the woods with the tractor. About ten years ago the local scrap man came and cleaned up the place. Other cars that I remember: First gen camaro circle track car (all smashed up) 62 Impala with a 4 speed (dunno the motor). 68 Coronet 4 door- 440, auto 60 Impala-no motor or trans 59 Impala-no motor or trans 48 (or something) Hudson-still there kinda, only the dash is left 57 Chevy one piece front clip-welded together, still there but barely All these chevies and I turned out liking Buicks. I must be refined!!
Huh? Dan, what's the fuzzy stuff on your face? Are you cold, oh, I shouldn't ask, as that not diverse, according to today's personel regulations, but the 'Old Guy' has the same thing going! as well as another friend of the 'old guy' and I , well go for it, love it, could go on, but won't. RV
Wishing I was there Dan :TU: Checking out at all the old Buick stuff in a place like that, getting real cold and excited, and after a nice meal in a nice restaurant, talking Buick all night long over a few brewskies...... :3gears:
Roberta, My better half doesn't really like the beard, but its kind of a necesity being that I work outdoors. I grow one every winter. I shaved once in Feb to see if it really makes a difference. BIG difference. I thought about letting it go till I look like ZZTop, but reality says its gone come April. Erik, After this trip, we roadtripped to get some wings and a few beers. Gimme a good junkyard followed by some good chow and a beer and I'm a happy boy. This yard was small, but its 50s selection was great. The owner actually parked all them cars back there forty years ago. Its more of a scrap facility, so the rusty old 50s cars are very complete. Saw some nice rarites in there. Examples would be a 56 Dodge Lancer Conv with a Red Ram/stickshift combo, and a 64 Chevelle two-door station wagon.
It makes a BIG difference!! I grow one every year as well. I plan to shave it off tonight, though. It's getting itchy!!
