    J Jarrett,

    Welcome!

Very Nice, just a few recommendations if I may.... No gold plated alternator fan, no cork valve cover gaskets, no riveted upper ball joints.

I still have the L79. It's not the nicest car I own but it's my favorite. My wife can drive a mean 4 speed was thinking about asking her to drive it.

The project looks great, I love to see cars done to that level.. Any details? Goals? Middle of the pack car, Quick 8 car or the fastest car? I think Copo`s ZL1 is a high 11.50 car in good air..:TU:

    Thanks Dave,
Well the Motor has an interesting past. GM gave a ZL1 short block to AJ Foyt Enterprises in 1970 it sat there until Floyd Garrett purchased it at auction from AJ Foyt Ent. to put in his museum. shortly after the purchase he stumbled upon a complete ZL1 Motor to display and sold the short block to a guy in VA. who completed the motor and put it in a real COPO car. After a short period it was replaced with the correct iron block motor and I purchased it from him about 14 months ago. My goal is to have fun and do the best I can while still having fun.

So it's an original 052 block? That's cool. Any date codes or stamps on it? Are you running GM internals with the 9180 cam? In reference to the alternator fan, it should be silver cad. The upper ball joints were originally riveted. I believe they are now making bolts with a rivet head to emulate the originals. Any other pics?:TU:

I remember those engine displays in the garage area at Floyds, The wife and I stopped by there on Vacation years ago . I've got a Bunch of pictures of them and all the other cool stuff there. Very cool story, I love the history behind it. Can't wait to see it.
