I see that the rules for 2010 are out. The way i read them concerning tires is that any car that came with f70-15 tires cannot upgrade to the 1 size larger, hence no G70-15's, is that correct? I am not even going near the NHRA spec stock eliminater line
I haven't seen the new rules, but would it also apply to no upgrade from F70-14 to G70-14 ? edit, here is the tire/wheel paragraph from the PSMCDR Tires & Wheels: Reproduction tires or radial tires only. No soft compound tires of any kind allowed. Retread tires are not allowed. Use of traction compounds or rubber-softening chemicals on tires are strictly prohibited. Tire size must approximate what was originally installed on the car. All four tires must be the same size. No 60-series tires will be allowed unless they were originally available for the car's year and model. 60-series tires must be run on 15-inch rims as they were originally. Cars built before the introduction of 70-series Polyglas or Wide-Ovals are allowed to upgrade to 70-series tires of appropriate size for the car. Please call for clarification. Suspicious tires will be durometered. Factory wheels only. Wheels must be correct in size, offset, and style for the car's make, model, and year. All four wheels must be the same size and offset
Just as a clarification [per Dan & Bob], regarding the line in the new rules that mentions the "stock eliminator class engine blueprint bulletins"...this refers to the same downloadable/printable NHRA spec sheets we've used [since 2001] as a reference. But as always, refer any questions to Dan/Bob...
I just hope there is a new rule for 2010 that says after 5 or more years of running the same competitor, that you get to pick a new competitor with a different color car!!!! ray:
  And I'd like some sort of control about how many big block cars I have to run in a row...In the 11 years, I've only run against another small block twice... Anybody that qualifies and runs in the 14's at 108 MPH ought to be investigated also......I'm afraid of getting blown off the track at the far end....
Maybe his or her tach was misadjusted, thus not allowing the Full potential of the car. And the Mistake was not noticed until the- or- your shootout.o No: uzzled: Cooould beee an honest mistake, some people only race once a year. This is my more friendly, more optimistic approach to things.
Poor Spetzmans run Rob more times than Larry the Cable says "Get er Done" Kinda like when Stefina in his 62 vette would always get the STUDE Tomato. The article would always read -Route 66 meets Campbells soup?
Are you sure you're not confusing FAST rules with PSMCDR rules??? FAST allows for the one-tire-size upgrade. Dave, that competitor isn't the same one using a laptop to dial in his tune up is it?? Because, as we all know, back in the 1960's, we all used lap top computers to tune up our cars. Therefore, it must be stock! :Smarty:
Just what the world needs. A kinder, more gentle, Tim Clary. Tim "before": :af: :af: :af: :af: :af: :af: Tim "now": ray: ray:   I think we can all buy into that. It is indeed a year for Hope and Change! :blast:
I didn't see anything in there about the sandbag/breakout rules...Is there any change? Still 0.3 under and the entire match is forfeited?
It seems that fast allows 1 size larger, but it was never that way for pure stock, alot of people seem to think you can go from an f70 to a g70. I do not think that is the case? Somebody please clarify this for me. The way I understand it, is that if your car came with 14's, you have to stay with 14's
Oh YEA! Laptop thats really makes your car so much stocker or F.A.S.T.ER.uzzled: After what I've seen, I think ahhh a little bigger lump on your slug might be the way to go :Brow: because if you have a BIG enough lump you don't need to fine tune. The BIGGER the lump the more she'll SMOKE.:Brow: I think the P/S vette will become a offical member of the S.E.C.T. :eek2:
