whats wondering if i can get information where to buy parts online for a 1971 skylark it as a 350 engine but the vin number said it was a L6 engine. Also where can i find a website to decode my body fisher tags?
The inline 6 was the base engine in the Skylark. 350 was an option, and I don't think the VIN changes for the engine option.
here's the information on the tag ST 71-43337 Z 06504 BD TR 110 B80 42 42 PNT 03D 213542 080375 Thanks for the help.
ST 71 = Style 1971 model 4 = Buick 33 = Skylark with a 250 cid Chevy inline six engine 37 = 2 door hardtop Z = Manufactured in the Fremont, Cal plant 06504 BD = Fisher Body sequence number TR 110 = Green cloth bench seat B80 = Roof drip rail moding accessory 42 42 PNT = Willomist top/body paint 03D = Made the 4th week of March 1971 213542 080375 = Fremont internal plant codes
thanks for the help. I see someone in this thread said that the skylark came in base inline six and that the 350 was a option for that model and that the vin number would not have reflected that option because i bought it with a 350 engine inside of it. does anybody know if thats true or not? Once again thanks for the help.
Yes-- I think this is true. I have a publication from the factory that says your number could have equipped with the inline six or a Buick 350.
I have had 3 '71s, all had the 433 vin, all had 350's, one had the window sticker stating 350 engine.
So where can i buy the publication at?Where are the serial numbers on a the engine? Will they match my vin or not?
