Looking forward to being part of the Buick community. We've just bought a 1969 Buick Electra 225 4 door custom hardtop. Its on its way at present from the US to NZ. Now I just need to figure out how to fit it in the garage.
Welcome. We have at least one other NZ board member. I cannot recall his name off hand but has a '67 GS 400.
Welcome from Ohio! We have a couple members from NZ - John Murray from Auckland is a friend - was able to meet him a while back while visiting. Cheers!
I'm a Kiwi from Christchurch, but I live in outer southeast Melbourne, across the ditch. When I bought my house, before even viewing the interior, I told the real estate agent to open the garage door and ''hold the end of this tape measure against the far wall'. Six inches to spare...the Wildcat fitted in the garage. ''Sold!'' ;-) Welcome. Hope your new car isn't too far away. It took me 5 months to get a motorcycle from Idaho to Melbourne door to door, arrived last month. Crazy shipping delays right now.
Hey Cam, welcome and great to hear there'll soon be another good Buick in the country, I'm down in New Plymouth. Who's doing your freight as landed 2 vehicles in Jan and only took 18days on the water. Brian.
Heard good things about them, exciting for you. You've come to the right place as this site is full of great info and very helpful people, welcome.
Hello everyone I have a couple of questions that I'd like to put out there. I'd like to slightly lower the Electra (still on coils) .. probably 1.1/2" - 2" drop. (No one in NZ seems to list lowered coil springs for this model) so supplier info & any experience would be very helpful. I'd also like to put a nice set of alloy wheels on it. 17" or 18" at a guess. Wheels seem easy enough to get in NZ but any info or experience would be great. Should I split these questions up and put them on different threads?
Welcome aboard! Very nice looking car! Were you given any sort of time frame for when you might get the car? Or, has it already been delivered? As a fellow land yacht owner of a ‘70 Electra 225 4-door sedan custom, enjoy!! Out of curiosity, what might your fellow friends and neighbors in NZ refer to our land yachts of yesteryear as? Paul
