Hey guys, my name's Landon and I'm from eastern Iowa. My dad purchased a 1975 Buick Free Spirit back in 78 and sold it to my uncle shortly after. Years ago after he picked up every woman in the county with that car he stored it in my parents garage. In 2008 I got the bug to pull this car out of the garage and get it running after it had sat for 15 years. People started to find out my family still had the car and one of my uncles friends offered him 10k for it as is. He stuck another 10k+ into the car restoring it. Motor and transmission were both completely rebuilt, new upholstry, new paint, decals, rims, tires, still have the original rims also. Anyway the other day he offered to sell it to me. We've agreed on a price and I'm approved through the bank, however they are wanting to know what it's valued at. NADA has the 76 pace car listed but not the 75. Does anyone know a estimated value on the car? I can't wait to get it in my hands on saturday and keep this car in the family! Any help would be much appreciated! Thanks!
Welcome! There's one on eBay right now for just under $15000. Look here --> http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Buic...ash=item1c61c8cb75:g:kHUAAOSwezVWxzCz&vxp=mtr
Thanks! That car looks nice however it's not a factory replica. Factory had hurst t-tops, blue interior, the white is correct but the pattern is wrong. The back section of the roof was solid with a window on the sides and not a soft top. It looks like someone spent a lot of money trying to make it look like it was factory but not the real deal.
ha, also found out something interesting. That car on ebay is the exact car that just sold on barrett jackson for $8800 http://www.barrett-jackson.com/Archive/Event/Item/1975-BUICK-REGAL-PACE-CAR-REPLICA-184263

I believe I seen that car on this forum when I was doing a bunch of research. If I remember right that car did not have any decals or anything on it representing it as an indy pace car
Landon: Last year, this very clean example was sold at Barrett-Jackson: Click photo to view auction results :Comp:
Thanks! That is the same car on the two links above. I'm assuming the guy that has it on ebay had bought it on barrett jackson and is trying to flip it on ebay now. Here is what the car looks like now except with better graphics. (I just pulled the image off google since I don't have any actual pics of the car yet)
When I read this thread, there was only your post in it :bglasses: I clicked the reply button because I remembered the B-J auction, so I did a search for it. After that I had to upload the photos and before you know 45 minutes or more are gone.
Does anyone happen to know what model bumpers would fit on the century body? I'm debating to have the current one replated for $650 or buy a used one in good condition.
look what just got posted on hemmings! http://www.hemmings.com/classifieds/cars-for-sale/buick/unspecified/1806309.html I also got an email back from hagerty. They are saying between $20,000-$30,000 I found one in a junk yard in vermont that someone should snag up! https://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.664493480320602.1073742095.532135846889700&type=3 If it wasn't a 19.5 hour drive for me I'd be on my way there
I am a newbie here. Hope this is a wonderful platform to show my skills. I am eagerly waiting to read your forums.
Landon, there is a 1975 Free Spirit for sale on Craiglist in Redding, California: Click screenshot to view the actual listing :Comp:
I believe I came across that car a couple days ago browsing the web. Pretty sad shape! I'm waiting to hear back from the Indy 500 museum if they accepted my entry for the pace car reunion. I'm super stoked to go out there and do a lap around the track and take part in the other events!
