Help, went through car lamps in fall and checked out bulbs, and all was ok, now we have no taillamps for signals or brakes, in the rear only. The signal arm is moved and front lamps come on but dont flash. Used a wire 12 volt tester and no power is on the harness with brake depressed, and same with signal at wire connector in trunk. Wear did I go to from here, the wire loom I Presume goes under the carpet to the dash area, This is a Regal cp 86, and has no problem like this before, All fuses are still good, brake lamp depress switch at the peddle is working to best view. The Running lamps at night DO work all running in the rear are on, just no brights of any kind. help before i get a ticket cg
Sounds like the turn signal switch has gone bad. The brake lights also run through the TS switch. Try turning on the 4way flashers a couple of times and turn them back off, they may be stuck partially on, preventing the brakes and TS from working. If that doesn't work........ looks like it's time to pull the steering wheel and replace the switch. Mike
