Does anyone have any experience in using a combination of no hop upper bars with Lakewood lower slapper bars on an A body. I would be interested as to how this combination would work on a street strip vehicle with enough HP & torque to run in the 10.0's. Alone, they both have their pro and cons for a dual purpose vehicle. What work's on the strip only is not always desireable on the street. As a side note, at one time I remember seeing the coin operated race car running slapper bars with the nose of the car pointing to the sky but I believe he is now running T/A No hop's and turning 1.30 60 foots. Your experiences are welcomed. Tom
No-hop bars worked great when my car ran 11.0s. When i put the Bulldog 464 in the back of the car would jump of the ground. Do not use these, way too much bite.... I don't know how Rich Brouwer's car ran with these????
Too much bite? Doesn't sound like that was the problem, sounds like your suspension wasn't in tune with the new power, probably unloading the springs after weight transfer. Or the springs were compressing too much during weight transfer.
No Dave it was the oposite. The rear was extending "body seperation" and continued to jump off the ground, too much bite. Nohops are off and works now. Check out the thread with Tom Rix, he knows his stuff.
Dave, Could you elaborate what combination of other suspension mods Dave Brouwer (Coin Operated) was running when he turned the 1.30 60fts. Tom
