Has anyone EVER seen a code 29A Buick??? A means white vinyl roof...NOT going back on! I'm not finding a clear chip or example
of this ppg color. It was supposedly new for 71. I'm ALMOST satisfied (LMAO) with the body work and have collected most of the
detail stuff....better trim etc. I think I wanna stay factory Colorado but she's been repainted so I really can't tell. Other than that
it's gonna be Eastwood blue pearl with a white irridescent pearl roof. Any help is greatly appreciated! Thank you for your time.

Interesting, the paint chart says this color was not available on the Skylark, GS or Sportwagon.

That is correct. I know of a nocturne blue 71 centurion convertible with a white top. I'll have to wait to get home to find the photos, though.

I thought nocturne blue was a mid-sixties Pontiac color...

If you google 'nocturne blue' and look at images, you do get a lot of Pontiacs. But apparently it was a Buick color starting in 71 too.

Demo if I'm not mistaken that color was also used on 69 chevelles. When I go to work Monday I'll check. If that is the color I think it is. it is an awesome color. I'm painting the whole car. ( overall ) with Spies heckler waterborne.

For the best representation of colours you are going to find online, there is a much larger colour sample (large enough to show how the colours look under different lighting goto http://fullsizebuickregistries.boattail-riviera-by-buick.com/Library/Common/1960s-70s/dealership_pubs/index.php?model=%27.$modellibrary.%27
It the insert from The 71 Colour and Trim binder - use your registry member login - this also shows the colour with each vinyl top combination and gives the recommended interior colours [IMG]

Herse one of the Nocturine blue pages - but goto the registry page it will be larger and you can zoom in on it to really see the metallic and how the light affects it - they going to come out smaller and compressed by inserting here

Boy does bring back some old memories (not all real good ones - some super ones) my mother had a crystal blue 72 - for many years one of the cars I learned to drive in - when I was 16 (15 when i got it - 16 before i could drive it) I had pretty 67 GTO Conv (that one has a good story too - a nieghbor bought it new - my dad wanted one I can still remember the lod discussions , he ended with a new 68 Caprice vert that got wrecked after about a week) back the LeSabre being my GTO was registered and insured under my mom name (insurance even with me as second driver was more then I payed for the Goat - So just every weekend my mom would take the GTO and leave to drive the LeSsbre - it was some embarrassing going to the cruisin in spots a four door (baby blueish) mommies car when your friends know you got a goat - it was really great at the drive in (if you know what i mean, and i talking ten firned in the trunk although you could that to) and in winter though - man they went thru the snow good. I remember going up a steep hill driving around the small cars that ere slidding back out of control back down once - That LeSabre and dad's 55 Roady are what made turn to Buicks when I got a few years older and a bit smarter. PS the she drive the LeSabre until 83 or so and traded it in for a Chevette which ended up in the ditch on its roof the first winter, then she bought Aries K car and never drove in winter again - I still have the hubcaps from it hanging in my garage (they had put rallys on it in the mid 70's so those were in moms basement).

You'd like the way this one is shaping up Adam, it's currently got the TSP 462 w/ TA Stage 1 SE heads and FAST EFI, dual exhausts, along with '71 Electra Seats (the right color), assorted Centurion bits and '75 Electra options. Also 235/75/15 rubber on road wheels. I believe it's got a 3.08 rear (open unfortunately). Next on the menu is, I'm thinking, a 700 4r, altho I watch all those debates carefully....

Rob, I share some of those memories, my parents had three '71 LeSabres while I was growing up. They were pretty good winter drivers!

We're having a lot of rain this week, so the salt should all be gone in a few days, then it's coming out.
